Removing Coffee Stains
Coffee stains are not exactly permanent. They may seem impossible to remove, but they can be taken out especially if you take swift and quick action to do so. Here is one of the basic ways to remove coffee stains:
Step 1. Blot The Stain
When you spill your coffee, make sure to take quick action. It is recommended to use warm water when blotting out the coffee stain. From here, use a white cloth to blot out the coffee, moving from the edges of the stain to the middle of it. This is to prevent the spill from spreading any further into your carpet.
Make sure that you do not rub the carpet, or else the liquid can be trapped further into the carpet fibres. Once most of it has been blotted up, use cold water to pour over the stain. Blot the stain again to dilute it.

Step 2. Apply Cleaning Solution.
You can purchase a cleaning solution or make your own by mixing one tablespoon of liquid dish soap, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and two cups of warm water.
Make sure to use a clean cloth when applying the solution to the stain. Move from the outside of the stain to the middle. Once the stain has been covered, blot it dry with a towel until the stain is no longer there.
If your coffee contained milk or sugar, then combine one capful of enzyme laundry detergent and one cup of warm water. Make sure you blend and stir the solution thoroughly. With a new cloth, dab the cleaning solution to the coffee sustain. This will help break the stickiness of the cream and sugar.
Additionally, if the first soak of cleaning solution doesn’t remove the entire stain, you can use a wet vacuum for extra support. Pour and saturate your cleaning solution over the stain. Leave it for around 10 minutes then use the wet setting of your wet/dry vacuum to remove the liquid. Repeat until the stain is no longer there.
Step 3. Rinse With Cold Water
Use cold water once more to rinse the area. Again, blot up as much liquid as you can so that the stain is completely removed. Allow the carpet to air dry on its own and make sure to avoid rubbing.
You may have heard that baking soda can remove coffee stains. This is actually true. In fact, baking soda can even remove red wine or grease stains.
You may choose to sprinkle a bit of baking soda on the stain after you finish rinsing the spot with cold water. Allow it to sit until the carpet is dry then simply vacuum up the remaining baking soda afterwards.

Summary
Coffee stains may be a pain to deal with, but they are not impossible to remove. With the simple do-it-yourself method above, you should be able to adequately and sufficiently remove accidental coffee spills on your carpet.
However, while these do-it-yourself methods can serve as an immediate action to removing coffee stains, you may want to consider using a professional service to help remove more stubborn and older coffee stains on your carpet.
